Rainier Valley Cooperative Preschool
PPP loan application and COVID relief assistance
Our teachers are the heart of our community. Retaining them would ensure that the school could open again in the fall and continue to teach care, empathy, and acceptance to our young students.

Work & Deliverables
We need advice and assistance with the PPP application process for our preschool, as well as any other COVID relief programs for which we might qualify. One particular question is: How do we handle the change in schedule over the summer? Our teachers rely on their main school year contracts for income, which typically follows the area’s public school schedule from September through June, and breaks for summer. We do have summer programs, but hours are diminished. As of now, the PPP loan requires at least 75% dispersal of funds to employee paychecks in the eight weeks following the loan start date, which is unknown. We are fast approaching the last eight weeks of the school year, and we want our teachers to be able to retain their jobs.
