Allow The Rhizome Center for Migrants to continue to support the deported community in Mexico
Posted April 5, 2020
The Rhizome Center for Migrants' (www.rhizomecenter.org) Mexico Project based in Guadalajara, Jal. defends and supports the rights of the deported community through legal, reintegration, and humanitarian support. The global pandemic and the economic destruction it is causing create major challenges that threaten our programs. We seek assistance to determine if we qualify for any of the financial support programs made available under the CARES Act (i.e. payroll protection, disaster loans, etc.), so that we can continue to fund our operations and pursue our work this year.
The Rhizome Center for Migrants
The Rhizome Center for Migrants’ mission is to support and defend forcibly displaced persons and uprooted people at risk around the world. Through the help of technology and transborder networks, we combine direct services, advocacy, and socially-driven development to empower migrant communities. Our Mexico Project, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, supports deported and returned migrants through legal aid and reintegration services.
