Review a simple privacy policy for a new website
Help expand voter registration in Florida
Posted November 21, 2019
We’re building a website that will tell visitors to Florida how they can volunteer on voter registration while they’re in the state. The site will go live later this fall, and more than a dozen Florida organizations active in voter registration have already told us they’d like to be listed. We need an attorney who can review a very basic privacy policy we'll be using on the site. Hopefully someone with some practical experience in this area, who could tell us if there's something important we've neglected. But this is unlikely, as we're using the policy of a tech-savvy progressive group as our template. So, probably, this won’t take a lot of time. But we need to make sure we’re not missing something!
Preparation Phase
- We'll send you a short draft privacy policy for this website.
Collaboration Phase
- Discuss our expected use of site data with us; review the draft policy; flag any changes needed.
Wrap Up
- Review edits to policy (if any).
Water For Grassroots
Water For Grassroots works to support community organizing groups in the swing states & red states, helping them build grassroots political power that can last beyond a single election cycle. Based in NYC, Water For Grassroots (W4G) has helped local organizers register voters in Pennsylvania, worked with Florida activists to support a referendum on expanding voting rights & raised small-dollar donations for grassroots groups in Alabama and elsewhere. We focus on groups organizing in working-class communities, especially in communities of color, & much of our work has been in support of organizing against voter suppression. For a short summary of our work that provides more details, see bit.ly/w4g-info. Our Facebook group is at facebook.com/groups/water4grassroots/.
