Immgiration deportation Defence- Attorney needed

Help the family understand if they qualify for cancellation of removal, or any legal protection

Posted May 26, 2025

Background & Context

We were founded on a simple premise: the next generation should not have to repeat our story as immigrants. To change this narrative, we focus on immigrant justice, particularly access to competent legal aid as a critical pathway to opportunity. Our work prioritizes immigrants from Black-majority countries, ensuring they have a fair chance to achieve the American dream.

What began with a small grant from the District of Columbia and support from a handful of individual donors has grown into a walk-in legal aid clinic in Southeast DC. Today, we have expanded to serve clients nationwide and lead policy advocacy campaigns that continue to rewrite the immigrant narrative.

Immediate Problem

We need to increase legal representation for our clients. As demand for our legal aid services grows, we are seeing clients from across the country with cases that span multiple practice areas. One urgent need is family law, which often intersects with immigration law. Support in this area will enable us to serve clients beyond the Washington, DC metro area and meet their complex legal needs more effectively.

Work & Deliverables

Provide initial consultations for clients and potentially take on full or limited-scope representation.
