Draft Essential Contracts to Power Women’s Leadership and Community Impact

Work & Deliverables

Tasks & Deliverables:

1. Review Background Materials
- Understand Women Leading Kentucky’s mission, programs, and typical partnership models
- Review any existing templates or past agreements (if available)

2. Draft Four Contracts
- Partnership Agreement – Defines roles, responsibilities, and shared goals with mission-aligned partners
- Independent Contractor Agreement – Outlines terms for service providers (scope, payment, IP, confidentiality)
- Corporate Sponsorship Agreement – Covers terms of financial/in-kind sponsorships and sponsor recognition
- In-Kind Donation Service Agreement – Details the terms of donated services or goods (scope, use, acknowledgment)

3. Tailor Language to Nonprofit Context
- Ensure clarity, legal compliance, and relevance to nonprofit use
- Align tone and structure with WLK’s values and community-focused mission

4. Provide Brief Guidance on Each Agreement
- Include a short summary or key points the nonprofit team should understand when using each agreement

5. Incorporate Feedback
- Respond to one round of feedback from the nonprofit staff
- Make any necessary revisions for clarity or alignment

Deliverables:
- Four final, editable contracts in Word format
- A brief (1–2 paragraph) summary or “how to use” note for each agreement

Project Plan

Preparation Phase

  • Schedule a background call with WLK executive director
  • Sign and return volunteer agreement
  • Review WLK’s mission, values, and any existing agreement templates or resources
  • Confirm timeline, deliverables, and communication preferences

Collaboration Phase

  • Draft four agreements
  • Include a brief “how to use” summary for each contract
  • Submit first drafts to volunteer coordinator
  • Schedule follow-up call to discuss feedback and questions
  • Revise drafts based on input and finalize documents

Wrap Up

  • Send final, editable versions of all four agreements and usage notes to volunteer coordinator
  • Confirm project completion and address any final questions
