Work & Deliverables

Launched by the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) as #MeToo went viral in the fall of 2017, the Legal Network for Gender Equity combats sex harassment and other sex discrimination in the workplace, in schools, and in healthcare settings. The Legal Network does this by connecting workers, students, and patients facing sex harassment and other sex discrimination with legal help from volunteer attorneys across the country. We have connected more than 9,200 individuals with legal help since the launch of the Legal Network, and we are seeking to expand our Legal Network so we can continue to provide this critical support. Join NWLC’s Legal Network and help the ongoing fight against sex harassment and other sex discrimination! Attorneys: Join the Legal Network for Gender Equity - National Women's Law Center.
When workers, students, or patients facing sex harassment or other sex discrimination contact the Legal Network for Gender Equity seeking legal help, we connect them with Legal Network attorneys for a free initial consultation. In that consultation, the Legal Network attorney will speak to the survivor about their experiences and counsel them about their options. In some cases, the survivor and attorney may decide to work together as attorney and client; however, for purposes of volunteering with the Legal Network, the attorney is not required to do more than provide a free initial consultation.
In situations involving workplace sex harassment and related retaliation, NWLC’s TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund may be able to provide funding to defray the costs of legal representation and media and storytelling assistance. You can learn more about cases supported by the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund here: How the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund Supported Two Brave Survivors in Their Pursuit of Justice - National Women's Law Center (nwlc.org)
If you practice in the areas of plaintiff-side employment law, education law, or patients’ rights, please apply to join NWLC’s Legal Network for Gender Equity! At NWLC, we are committed to changing the culture of sex harassment and discrimination by helping workers, students, and patients access the legal system and hold their harassers accountable. By signing up for the Legal Network for Gender Equity, you agree that we can provide your name and contact information to individuals who need legal help, identifying you as an attorney who practices in the individual’s geographic area and is willing to consult about situations involving sex harassment and/or other sex discrimination.

We hope you will join us as we build a movement and fight for the safety, dignity, and respect of all people.

National Women's Law Center

The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice—in the courts, in public policy, and in our society—working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. We use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions to the gender inequity that shapes our society and to break down the barriers that harm all of us—especially women of color, LGBTQ people, and low-income women and families. For 50 years, we have been on the leading edge of every major legal and policy victory for women.
