Work & Deliverables
Organizing college sports teams to support voting & polling locations. We have recruited teams to attend polling sites to bring civic joy & some food/water! We dont want the teams to break any election laws. We need to share guidance with teams and overall protocols. No one wants to end up on ESPN for breaking the law. Schools Rutgers (NJ), University of Penn (PA), Oklahoma (OK), Bryant (RI), Creighton (NE)...
All Vote No Play (AVNP)
We are a non-partisan initiative focused on engaging student athletes, coaches and administrators to exercise their civic power while strengthening their sense of community. We provide sports focused non-partisan resources aimed to make civic engagement joyful, build stronger teams and reinforce commitment to community. No one in the civic engagement space has the network, background, and personal relationships we have. The NCAA has made civic engagement on election day a mandated off day and AVNP played a major role in that legislation becoming a reality. We believe that all schools have an opportunity to infuse their athletic programs with meaningful civic values and activities. We’ve designed “civic drills” and resources to provide the most comprehensive— and impactful resources specifically geared toward this unique audience. There is a valuable opportunity to engage nearly 500,00 student athletes nationwide. We believe that coaches/administrators are uniquely positioned to help athletes see themselves as capable and confident voters, contributors, and leaders of civic life. Here is a short highlight reel of the Engaged Athlete All-Star meeting we hosted a couple of weeks ago with Stephen Curry, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Tara Vanderveer among others that reached thousands of student athletes.
