Background & Context

The Justice Impact Network (JIN), the people’s digital platform for justice, is a one stop shop for people and families who need help navigating the system by connecting people, organizations, and resources onto one easily accessible website. JIN is a comprehensive solution that works for people from the moment of first contact e.g. arrest and throughout their system journey e.g. trial, incarceration, post release, and reentry. In just a few clicks people can find and connect with the help and resources they need to deal with their specific issues.

Work & Deliverables

Lawyers will have the chance to review jurisdictional and non jurisdictional guides and materials written by students at some of the top law schools and universities.

Project Plan

Preparation Phase

  • Schedule and attend a training call with volunteer coordinator.
  • Sign volunteer agreement and return to volunteer coordinator
  • Wait to be matched with a project (JIN Guide or jurisdictional resource)

Collaboration Phase

  • Connect with matched student volunteer (if applicable)
  • Review their JIN guide or Resource
  • Schedule call to discuss questions and proposed revisions

Wrap Up

  • Send final document to volunteer coordinator
  • Confer with volunteer coordinator and legal manager to confirm work is complete and transfer files
