Assistance with Guardianship Agreement

Help father in Mexico arrange guardianship for his son

Posted March 15, 2021

Work & Deliverables

We are looking for a California-licensed attorney to draft a temporary guardianship agreement for a single father in Mexico who would like to send his U.S. citizen child, a minor, to live with a family member in the United States where the child will have access to a U.S. education and other opportunities available to American children. Due to the punitive nature of U.S. immigration laws, the father will not be able to go with his son.

Project Plan

Preparation Phase

  • Schedule background call with supervising attorney

Collaboration Phase

  • Schedule call between volunteer and client
  • Draft guardianship agreement

Wrap Up

  • Go over document and explain terms for modification/termination to client
  • Confer with supervising attorney to confirm work is complete and to transfer files or information
